  • Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries, including departmental allocations, benefits, commissions and related accruals.
  • Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Manage day-to-day banking and treasury activities, including cash positioning, bank reconciliations, transfers and payment execution.
  • Own the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including customer invoicing, collections, account reconciliations and follow-up on outstanding balances.
  • Maintain deferred revenue and revenue recognition schedules, ensuring accurate accounting in accordance with customer contracts and applicable accounting standards.
  • Support cash flow forecasting and budget maintenance by updating actuals, maintaining supporting schedules and analyzing variances against plan.
  • Own the monthly financial reporting process, including preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, variance analysis and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain financial and operating KPI reporting and dashboards, including revenue, ARR, cash burn/runway and other key business metrics.
  • Support the Director of Finance in preparing management and Board reporting, including financial analysis and key business insights.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Delivery and Marketing to ensure accurate and timely financial information across the customer lifecycle.
  • Support the integration of CRM and finance processes, ensuring data accuracy, consistency and appropriate financial controls.
  • Leverage technology, reporting tools and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy within established finance processes.
  • Support audit, tax and compliance requirements, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external advisors.
  • Support multi-entity and multi-currency accounting across Canadian and US operations, including intercompany reconciliations.

Requirements

  • CPA designation preferred or working towards.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally in a Senior Accountant capacity.
  • Strong hands-on full-cycle accounting experience, including month-end close, reconciliations, payroll accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, revenue recognition, internal controls and multi-entity accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting systems and MS Excel.
  • Curious, hands-on and collaborative mindset, with the initiative to take ownership, anticipate next steps and follow through independently with minimal supervision.
