About the Role
Austin Country Club is seeking an energetic and growth-oriented Head Swim Coach to teach young swimmers, starting in August 2025. This role focuses on helping swimmers improve their skills and overcome barriers.
Responsibilities
- Lead practices, summer clinics, private lessons, swimming camps, and other events
- Provide high-quality coaching while upholding safety standards
- Communicate with parents, assistant coaches, and team presidents
- Answer questions about swimming lessons or camps
- Manage swim meet schedules, coordinate meet entries and logistics, and schedule assistant coaches
- Monitor pool activities and maintain proper chemical levels
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience running a member-owned swim club
- 2+ years of experience coaching youth or competitive swimmers
- Proven experience teaching technical swimming skills
- Competitive swimming experience, preferably at the collegiate level
- Ability to use SwimTopia software and run a time system
- Ability to create individualized training plans based on skill level
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills
- Collaboration skills and a team spirit
- Conflict resolution skills
- Passion for sports and helping others improve
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Experience managing a team and organizing swim meets
- Experience leading swim camps or youth development programs
