About the Role
Loads, unloads, and moves materials/products within the facility for prompt and accurate access to shipping and/or production based upon the needs of the company and the customer. This is an evening shift position, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, cranes, hoists, and pallet jack to load, unload, transport, or stack material.
- Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
- Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Act as back-up driver for company truck.
- Follows all safety procedures.
- Maintain vehicles in good working condition.
- Communicate with others to coordinate material handling or movement.
Requirements
- Must be certified to operate forklift and drive in a safe manner.
- Must possess valid unrestricted driver’s license.
- Machine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common.
- Requires the use of safety glasses and steel toed shoes/boots.
- Work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Work overtime, including weekends as requested.
