About the Role
The Housekeeping Houseperson plays a crucial role in maintaining hotel cleanliness, ensuring guest satisfaction, and supporting the housekeeping team. This position is vital for creating a memorable guest experience and upholding the hotel's reputation.
Responsibilities
- Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned floors, including vacuuming and buffing.
- Assist the housekeeping team with supply upkeep, linen delivery, and cleaning tasks.
- Communicate with the supervisor throughout the shift.
- Perform duties of a room attendant when necessary.
- Assist room attendants with heavy lifting during room cleaning.
- Restock guest floor supply closets with linen, supplies, and amenities.
- Clean internal offices, including emptying trash, vacuuming, and dusting.
- Deliver guest amenities and housekeeping supplies when assigned.
- Respond to guest and associate inquiries to ensure total guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Previous professional housekeeping experience required.
- Hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
- Considerable physical activity, including heavy lifting, on a continuous basis.
- Ability to lift, carry, and position loads up to 50 lbs. regularly, unassisted.
- Frequent bending, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and handle physical labor.
- Ability to work on feet for an extended period.
- Ability to move, traverse, and position self to reach corners and high places.
- Ability to observe emergency conditions, including detecting odors.
- Ability to position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs. in tight spaces.
- Ability to operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads, and dusters.
