About the Role
As a Shipping Coordinator, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of shipping operations, including coordinating shipments, preparing documentation, and ensuring timely delivery. You'll work closely with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to optimize transportation routes, minimize costs, and maintain high standards of efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily shipping and receiving operations.
- Verify received items against Bill of Ladings and Purchase Orders.
- Prepare and distribute Receiving Reports.
- Adhere to company quality, cost, and service objectives.
- Foster effective communication with customer shipping departments.
- Verify product against carton labels, work orders, and quantities.
- Complete ASNs according to customer requirements.
- Coordinate with customer care, quality, and shipping for rush requests.
- Plan logistics and transportation needs.
- Track delivery times and transportation costs.
- Maintain inventory records.
- Monitor real-time goods status to ensure contract fulfillment.
- Provide logistics solutions while maintaining high service quality.
- Suggest improvements for existing logistics systems.
- Advise on optimal transportation activities, including routes, equipment, and schedules.
- Ensure all personnel work safely and use required protective devices.
- Ensure proper use of equipment, protective devices, and clothing.
- Enforce company safety rules and report hazardous conditions.
- Investigate work refusal situations according to guidelines.
- Take all reasonable precautions for worker protection.
Requirements
- Effective and well-developed communication skills.
- Proven shipping/receiving history or background.
- Ability to interface and service inter-departmental and customer needs as a team player.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, analytical, and technical competency.
- Tow motor and/or lift truck operation license.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
