About the Role
The David Yurman Internship Program in New York City is a paid 9-week immersive experience designed for students and emerging professionals passionate about the luxury jewelry industry. This exclusive program offers interns the opportunity to work closely with expert teams across various departments, gaining hands-on experience in crafting exquisite jewelry, understanding luxury branding, and learning operational aspects of a world-renowned brand. Set in NYC, interns will have access to networking events, mentorship, and industry insights.
Responsibilities
- Analyze inventory levels, trends, and composition to identify opportunities to improve inventory productivity, minimize excess inventory, and support optimal stock positioning.
- Support the development and maintenance of inventory forecasts and purchase plans by analyzing historical sales, projected demand, and inventory requirements.
- Compile, validate, and analyze large datasets to support recurring and ad hoc reporting, assisting in developing dashboards and automating reporting processes.
- Monitor projected inventory receipts and supply chain developments to identify potential risks and opportunities, assessing supply disruptions and quantifying financial exposure.
- Partner with Buying, Merchandicing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Retail Operations to support inventory initiatives and provide actionable insights.
- Gain exposure to enterprise planning and business intelligence platforms while supporting reporting enhancements, data validation, and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to analyze large datasets, identify discrepancies, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analytical findings clearly.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous coursework or experience in forecasting, planning, or retail analytics is a plus.
- Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn with an interest in luxury retail, inventory management, merchandise financial planning, and supply chain.
