About the Role

The Care Company is a home health care provider dedicated to helping seniors live independently in their own homes. We are seeking Mandarin-speaking Personal Support Workers for ongoing support in Mississauga.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
Offer companionship and light housekeeping to help seniors remain at home.
Prepare meals according to client and family requests, with flexibility for various cuisines.
Adhere to personal care and ADL assistance within the scope of a Personal Support Worker.
Assist clients with daily living activities, including hygiene, bathing, grooming, and linen changes.
Support clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises.
Ensure client safety and proper use of equipment.
Practice safely and competently within the job description and scope of experience.
Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.

Requirements

Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification from a recognized educational institution, or recognized international nursing or medical education meeting The Care Company's requirements.
Verification of PSW educational credentials through standard processes, including NACC where applicable.
Current registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) is an asset.
Negative TB test completed within the past year.
Valid CPR/First Aid certification.
Valid WHMIS 2015 certification completed within the past year.
Valid Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past year.
Required immunization documentation for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and diphtheria.
COVID-19 vaccination documentation, subject to accommodation.
Effective English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good judgment and ability to work safely and independently in clients' homes and community settings.
Ability to identify and report client care concerns and changes in condition.
Ability to work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
