About the Role
Join our team as a (Senior) Software Engineer specializing in mass data processing. You will develop backend solutions, understand complex financial processes, and work with large data volumes. This role offers the opportunity to become a technical subject matter expert, taking ownership of architecture and implementation, and setting technical standards.
Responsibilities
- Deep dive into core products with a focus on backend and financial accounting, evolving into a subject matter expert for architecture and implementation.
- Act as a technical sparring partner for Product Owners, contributing expertise in payment posting, billing logic, financial accounting, and data models to product development.
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into clean, scalable backend solutions and design clear interfaces for seamless system integration.
- Develop and optimize high-performance batch and real-time processes for reliable processing of large data volumes.
- Design and maintain relational data models using Oracle SQL, implement efficient ORM mapping, and specifically optimize performance.
- Automate reporting workflows, ensure end-to-end quality with automated tests, and implement AI technologies where they meaningfully improve productivity and business processes.
- Actively participate in the Scrum team, share knowledge as a mentor, and continuously develop best practices for code quality, testing, and technical collaboration.
Requirements
- Completed university degree or equivalent IT education.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Extensive experience in backend development with Java, Spring Boot, Maven, Jenkins, JUnit5, and Cucumber.
- Understanding of financial accounting, basic booking logic, and interest/fee calculations.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, preferably Oracle SQL.
- Experience with ORM architectures, processing, and optimizing large data volumes.
- Proficiency in German and English for effective collaboration in an international environment.
