About the Role
The Advanced Care Team Clinician provides clinical insight and education to patients, instructing them on the safe and appropriate use of home respiratory and other equipment. This role supports the continuum of care for patients while maintaining knowledge of equipment and services and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
- Educates patients/family/caregivers on diagnosis, personal care, symptom recognition, and equipment uses and care via phone, Telehealth, and in-person visits.
- Completes daily tasks including general follow-up, NIV follow-ups, and patient/family/caregiver phone calls.
- Completes NIV Setups and home visits, and participates in on-call duties as needed.
- Supports the continuum of care by creating/overseeing care plans, communicating with physicians/clinicians, and resolving patient care issues.
- Maintains current knowledge of company equipment and services, potentially assisting with quality control and equipment maintenance.
- Maintains understanding of insurance benefits, coverage, and patient costs to explain to patients/caregivers.
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA, The Joint Commission, State Respiratory Care Board, State Pharmacy Board, and other applicable rules and regulations.
- Maintains current professional licensure or certification requirements, including CEU compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Professional licensure or certification as a Certified, Registered or Licensed Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse (CRT, RRT, RN, LPN).
- Six months of experience in a clinical services role.
