About the Role

Base is seeking an Engineering Technician to construct test infrastructure, enabling the confident shipment of new hardware and software. This role involves transforming engineering designs into robust physical test benches and fixtures, capable of continuous operation.

  • Document every build to ensure quick replication of stations as capacity increases
  • Design and fabricate enclosures, mounting brackets, and racking systems for continuous operation
  • Determine when to fabricate parts in-house versus outsourcing, ensuring quality in either case
  • Maintain test systems to be operational for engineering and automated testing 24/7
  • Adhere to wiring schematics and meet workmanship, safety, and inspection standards for both low-voltage and high-voltage work

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience wiring harnesses, including cutting, stripping, labeling, and documenting for replication
  • Experience building both low-voltage signal harnesses from schematics and 240/480V power circuits
  • Experience designing or fabricating enclosures, mounting brackets, or racking systems
  • Proficiency with power tools and various fabrication equipment
  • A team-first mentality and goal-oriented drive, taking initiative and communicating priorities
  • 1-3 years in electrical work, fabrication, motorsports, aerospace, or a similar hands-on technical role (apprenticeships and trade training are applicable)
