About the Role
The Surgical Technologist will provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures and assist the surgical team from the scrub position during an operation. Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments and facilitating room turnover between cases. Maintains sterile technique, safe handling of sharps, and performance of surgical counts as per hospital policy. Demonstrates proper handling of solutions and pharmacologic agents under the direction of a registered nurse.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Assist the surgical team from the scrub position during an operation.
- Ensure proper care and handling of instruments.
- Facilitate room turnover between cases.
- Maintain sterile technique.
- Ensure safe handling of sharps.
- Perform surgical counts as per hospital policy.
- Demonstrate proper handling of solutions and pharmacologic agents under the direction of a registered nurse.
- DEN rotation, weekends, holidays, and on-call per unit need.
Requirements
- NBSTSA Certification or experience as Surgical Technologist within a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year or more, occurring within the four years immediately prior to January 2015.
- Two (2) years of recent experience in a cardiac OR.
- Able to scrub and circulate.

- Gross Weekly - $2712 for 36 hours
- W2 taxable - $25/hr
- Non Taxable Stipend - $1512/week
