About the Role
Swissport is a global leader in aviation services, providing Ground Handling, Cargo Handling, and Passenger Services. The Bus Inspector role is responsible for monitoring and inspecting school bus routes, vehicles, and personnel, ensuring daily compliance with transportation regulations within the Nassau/Suffolk County Preschool Transportation system. This role requires timely and accurate responses to inquiries and a solid understanding of paratransit safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conducts field site inspections
- Maintains log book of route changes
- Interfaces with provider schools and transporters
- Mediates between parent, provider school and transporter
- Computer data entry of preschool data
- Attends all refresher classes
- Processes all inquiries regarding preschool transportation
- Responds to all accidents
- Assists the driver certification examiner in the notification of changes in state law
- Maintain driver files
- Assists manager or assistant manager with the development of new safety procedures
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Data Entry Experience
- Customer Service Experience
- Must be detailed orientated and have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have valid driver’s license
