About the Role
Career & Employment Options (CEO) is seeking a Part-Time Career Consultant to provide transition services to special needs students and adults through ACCES-VR. This role involves instructing clients in job readiness, career planning, job coaching, community access, travel training, and Pre-ETS. The position requires working with clients at job sites and high schools, with a willingness to travel.
Responsibilities
- Develop community-based internships and provide direct job coaching.
- Analyze internship work assignments.
- Enable clients to perform effectively in community-based worksites using self-direction and CEO instructional formats.
- Collaborate with client families to ensure their active participation in the employment process.
- Provide information and goal activities for CSE or ACCES/VR planning meetings.
- Assist students in their transition beyond high school, including utilization of interest inventories and skill assessments.
- Offer a positive environment and effective counseling to assist clients in achieving career and community goals, in person and/or remotely.
- Facilitate the transition and notification of graduating seniors and their linkages to ACCES, NYSCB, OPWDD, or OMH.
- Attend professional development trainings regarding regulatory issues and process changes.
- Provide job development for placement into internships, job placement, World of Work Tours, and mentor programs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Vocational/Job Coaching experience required.
- Professional Business Attire required.
