About the Role
Profound is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to build applications, integrations, and AI-powered workflows that enhance team efficiency. You will collaborate with various departments to translate needs into practical products, working on internal applications, backend services, and automation. This role involves owning projects from conception to operation, leveraging AI to improve outcomes while ensuring human oversight for critical decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design and build internal applications, integrations, and automations using TypeScript and Python.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand workflows, identify repetitive tasks, and develop problem-solving tools.
- Build AI-powered workflows using LLMs and agents, incorporating evaluation, human review, and fallback mechanisms for production reliability.
- Develop systems for workflows such as lead routing, data enrichment, and operational processes, integrating existing tools and data.
- Transform prototypes and existing automations into robust, maintainable systems with testing, monitoring, access controls, and clear ownership.
- Manage projects from design and implementation through rollout, user feedback, and ongoing support.
- Make informed build, buy, and reuse decisions to enhance existing systems and minimize duplication.
- Investigate and resolve failures across application code, integrations, and data flows, improving reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience in building and operating production applications, services, or integrations.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Python, with a track record of writing maintainable, tested production code in both languages.
- Experience working directly with technical and non-technical users to translate ambiguous requirements into functional products.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems across applications, APIs, databases, and infrastructure to ensure resolution.
- Consideration for reliability, security, data access, and long-term system maintenance.
- Comfort with taking ownership, making trade-offs, and clearly communicating progress and decisions.
