About the Role

The Director, Retail Stores (AGS / South) will lead, coach, and support Senior Retail Managers and their teams to achieve business objectives and deliver an exceptional customer experience. This role acts as a crucial link between EMEA-wide initiatives and the field, influencing strategies and championing best practices while ensuring local needs are integrated.

Responsibilities

Analyze financial, labor and weekly trade data to identify profitability, budget and performance opportunities.
Partner cross-functionally to improve sub-league performance through store-specific actions.
Resolve recurring trade-related issues and ensure the commercial calendar is locally relevant.
Drive Nike Direct strategy across the field by sharing best practices and influencing global and EMEA initiatives.
Support Sr Retail Manager execution and maintain a full view of Nike Owned Stores.
Act as a stakeholder in the day-to-day management of labor relations body relationships.
Build a consistent understanding of Nike’s service and selling expectations across the region.
Champion and embed initiatives that strengthen service and selling.
Review regional Post Purchase Survey data to assess service and selling culture.
Support Sr Retail Managers in addressing negative service and selling trends.
Hold Sr Retail Managers accountable for meeting service expectations.
Lead, coach and develop Sr Retail Managers across all people-management responsibilities.
Ensure Sr Retail Managers coach and develop Head Coaches and store management teams.
Identify regional skills gaps and partner cross-functionally to develop and roll out training programs.
Ensure career pathing and talent development processes are followed across the region.
Ensure Retail Operations & Services initiatives are adopted across the region.
Regularly review Store Standards and Processes reports to identify trends, gaps and risks.
Champion Sr Retail Managers to resolve operational issues.
Analyze OE reviews to identify regional trends across store and field leadership.
Partner with relevant stakeholders to mitigate negative trends.
Ensure operational KPIs including SSP, Ops Health dashboards, Shrink and Loss Prevention are met.
Maintain Nike brand standards in stores.

Requirements

Extensive retail field leadership experience.
Strong understanding of remote team management, product assortment, retail financials, inventory management, supply chain logistics, loss prevention, consumer market intelligence, customer service excellence and operational standards.
Strong retail business acumen.
Proven ability to lead, coach and inspire high-performing teams remotely.
Ability to connect business strategy with consumer needs and preferences.
Exceptional communication, influencing and business storytelling skills.
Strong cross-functional leadership skills.
