About the Role
Asterix Health is solving the critical shortage of highly-qualified doctors by providing a scalable remote healthcare service. We are the only company approved to work with remote GPs for the NHS from abroad, supported by strong clinical leadership, primary care workflows, and decision-making technology. Our mission is to ensure consistent and repeatable service delivery as we scale to serve millions of patients and launch new practices monthly.
Responsibilities
- Run and develop service delivery from contract signature to renewal.
- Manage service performance and practice health across the entire patient journey.
- Develop and implement internal and external standard operating procedures, including reporting and headcount planning.
- Line manage, coach, and empower the Medical Operations team to deliver an industry-leading service.
- Utilize practice feedback to drive continuous improvement in delivery across all accounts.
Requirements
- Experience running an NHS primary care service, practice group, PCN, federation, or ICB-commissioned service.
- Proven ability to launch a service, meet targets, and maintain practice confidence.
- Experience setting up, rebuilding, and growing service operations end-to-end.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to thrive in detail-oriented tasks (onboarding, SOPs, KPIs, service reviews) while focusing on retention and growth.
- Familiarity with GP practices, PCNs, GP Federations, and private providers across the UK.
- Willingness to learn and utilize AI and automation technologies.
- Ability to challenge senior colleagues when necessary.
- Strong commercial grasp of service economics and communication skills.
- Strong structural thinking and decision-making capabilities with imperfect information.
- Knowledge of EMIS, SystmOne, and Docman, including workflow for labs, documents, and appointments.
