About the Role
The Bar Manager is responsible for creating a world-class beverage experience, overseeing the full bar operation, and ensuring the bar remains a vibrant and profitable hub within the Club. You will manage, develop, and inspire your team, and collaborate with Food & Beverage and Events teams to ensure all drinks offerings are delivered to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Drive exceptional service standards by developing and refining systems that enhance the experience for members, guests, and staff.
- Lead engaging training sessions on Soho House food and drink programs through storytelling, demos, and initiatives like “Cook House,” “House Tonic,” and “Club School.”
- Collaborate across departments to ensure every guest interaction is seamless, aligned with brand expectations, and delivered with consistency.
- Support recruitment efforts by identifying talent needs, participating in interviews, and evaluating candidates alongside People & Development.
- Ensure maximum revenue is achieved from all sales opportunities.
- Ensure cleanliness standards and procedures for the unit & their areas are in accordance with site, company and legal health and safety standards.
- Responsible for Mystery Shopper Reports and staff development.
- Actively participates as a member of the management team in decision making processes, attending required meetings, etc.
- Delegates work and determine beverage methods to staff throughout shift.
- Uphold and enforce standards of appearance, compliance, safety, and professionalism across the team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in similar capacity
- Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain calm, through quickly and effectively problem solving under pressure
- Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service and respectful towards colleagues and guests
- Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously
