About the Role

Participates in the Bank's Technology Development Program (TDP), a two-year program designed to build technical expertise within Cybersecurity. Participants gain hands-on experience supporting two Cybersecurity teams, providing exposure to multiple cybersecurity disciplines while developing technical skills, business acumen, and a strong foundation for a long-term career in Cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

Mentor with experienced technology staff to develop in-depth technical skills in Cybersecurity.
Contribute to projects involving cloud technologies, infrastructure as code, automation, and cybersecurity initiatives.
Complete a series of rotations in cybersecurity disciplines to gain a broader understanding of their utilization at the Bank and how they work together.
Complete a series of rotations in multiple technical disciplines within Cybersecurity to gain a broader understanding of them, how they are utilized at the Bank and how they work together.
Determine post-program assignment in one of the core areas through career path design, performance, assessment, and interest.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls.
Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology related field
Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0
Demonstrated experience with an Information Technology discipline, such as Data Networking, Application Development, Platform Operating Systems, Database, Data Analytics or Information Security
Understanding of hardware configurations and software concepts in the current environment and future technologies

The team supports capabilities such as cryptographic key management, certificate management, encryption standards, and data protection controls that help safeguard sensitive information across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Team members partner with cybersecurity and technology stakeholders to support secure solutions and strengthen data protection practices.
Technologies and tools used by the team may include cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Windows and Linux operating systems, and enterprise encryption and cryptography solutions.
The Bank’s Technology Development Program is a rotational training program for Bachelor degreed individuals in a technical discipline.
