About the Role
Propeller is seeking a Senior Software and Integrations Engineer to join their IT Services and Systems department. This role involves building and maintaining data pipelines, developing AI features, creating full-stack applications, and managing infrastructure. The engineer will take technical ownership of solutions, translate requirements into technical designs, and implement integrations within the company's architecture.
Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of assigned solutions with accountability for quality and delivery.
- Define solutions: translate requirements into technical designs, approaches, and plans.
- Implement full-stack, hands-on delivery from data model to API to interface.
- Own testing: unit, integration, and end-to-end; validate against requirements before release.
- Design and build integrations connecting systems within the architecture owned by leadership.
- Peer-review teammates' work: code reviews, design feedback, and constructive critique.
- Contribute to shared tooling, standards, and documentation.
- Track work and changes in the team's shared system; keep work visible and documented.
- Use AI tools to work efficiently, automating repetitive work so you can focus on solution design and quality.
Requirements
- Strong in two or three of the four domains (data engineering, AI, application development, DevOps); comfortable contributing in the others with room to grow.
- Demonstrated AI fluency: you work with AI tools in your own workflow today, and you can walk us through how it changes what you produce.
- Works effectively with limited supervision; self-directed on execution within direction, architecture, and standards set by leadership.
- Strong peer collaborator and reviewer; shares knowledge across the team.
- Makes sound technical decisions independently and knows when to escalate.
- Raises strategy, budget/cost, and cross-functional decisions to leadership rather than owning them.
