About the Role
The Field Service Engineer delivers support to internal teams and customers by providing site management, process solutions, automation solutions, and troubleshooting services. Success in this role requires understanding both process applications and system functionality for new and existing equipment. Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a continuous positive relationship with customers, including support and follow-up on customers' concerns and problems.
- Perform troubleshooting and fault-finding services on site, on line, and by phone.
- Perform and execute Factory Acceptance Testing.
- Perform site management, process engineering, mechanical engineering, controls and automation engineering for installation, start-up and commissioning of JCS engineered systems.
- Execute site acceptance testing – partner with customer, manage and/or support startup team for this function.
- Document and maintain written records of services performed on behalf of JCS.
- Take an active role in the problem-solving process for demand and scheduled service work, including system operation evaluation, process and instrumentation evaluation, troubleshooting and repair, and control system evaluation, troubleshooting and repair.
- Take an active role in project support, including project site management, installation, start-up and commissioning support, building electrical panels, checkout and testing assistance, process systems installation, calibration, testing and checkout, and control systems installation, calibration, testing and checkout.
- Promote and maintain good business relationships with customers and vendors.
- Seek out career development opportunities in areas such as PLC training, instrument training, process training, and controls training.
- Seek out continuous improvement opportunities with both internal and external processes.
