About the Role
BDO is seeking a Bilingual Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to support the growth of their Tax service line. This role involves managing recruitment for specialized and professional roles, partnering with business leaders to develop sourcing strategies, and providing an exceptional candidate and hiring leader experience. The position offers flexibility to work from any BDO office across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end recruitment process for a portfolio of roles within Tax, from intake and sourcing through assessment, offer and close, while delivering a strong candidate and hiring leader experience
- Partner closely with Tax leaders and hiring managers to understand their practices, growth priorities and current and emerging talent needs, translating those needs into effective recruitment strategies
- Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies to identify and engage high-calibre talent, particularly for specialized and difficult-to-fill roles, using LinkedIn Recruiter, professional networks, referrals, talent communities and other sourcing channels
- Bring talent market intelligence to hiring decisions, using recruitment data, competitive insights, market trends and candidate feedback to advise leaders on talent availability, role requirements and sourcing strategies
- Build trusted relationships with hiring leaders by providing thoughtful recruitment advice, setting clear expectations and constructively challenging assumptions where appropriate to achieve strong hiring outcomes
- Build and maintain external talent pipelines and networks, developing relationships with prospective candidates, industry professionals, professional associations and talent communities to support current and future hiring needs
- Act as a brand ambassador for the firm, effectively communicating our employee value proposition, culture and career opportunities to prospective talent
- Continuously improve how we recruit, identifying opportunities to enhance recruitment processes, sourcing approaches and the candidate and hiring leader experience
- Leverage recruitment technology and emerging tools to work more effectively, including applicant tracking systems, sourcing platforms, analytics and AI-enabled technology
- Demonstrate strong business acumen by understanding the firm's growth priorities and translating them into practical talent acquisition strategies
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience, ideally within professional services or another environment involving specialized and competitive talent markets
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruitment across multiple roles and stakeholder groups, with the ability to independently manage a complex recruitment portfolio
- Strong track record of proactively sourcing and engaging passive candidates, including experience recruiting specialized and difficult-to-fill talent
- Comfortable advising and influencing senior stakeholders and can use market intelligence, recruitment data and your own expertise to guide hiring decisions
- Strong business acumen and are naturally curious about the businesses and teams you support, allowing you to understand their talent needs beyond an individual requisition
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and are comfortable using data and market insights to inform recruitment strategies
- Strong relationship-building, collaboration and communication skills, allowing you to build credibility with candidates, hiring managers and senior leaders across the firm
- Highly organized and comfortable managing competing priorities and multiple recruitment processes in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working across modern recruitment technology, including applicant tracking systems such as Workday, sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter, and AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot
- Curious about emerging recruitment technology and are comfortable experimenting with new tools, sourcing methods and ways of working to improve recruitment outcomes
- Knowledge of English is essential for this position due to frequent and complex contact with English-speaking partners and clients in Quebec and outside of Quebec, and the need to draft documents in English.
