About the Role

Palantir's in-house legal team seeks an IP Counsel to be the legal backbone of the company's intellectual property strategy. This role involves advising on patents, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters, including patent harvesting, portfolio development, licensing, and open source strategy. The ideal candidate is technically adept, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and can manage complex, multi-step projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Become an expert in and stay up-to-date with Palantir's state-of-the-art technology.
Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and protect innovative products and solutions.
Use and help develop in-house patent tools built on Palantir’s leading AI platform.
Develop and implement intellectual property strategies in response to evolving business needs, including harvesting and ensuring alignment of Palantir's patent and trademark portfolios with business priorities.
Craft practical legal advice on a wide range of IP issues.

Requirements

JD and 3+ years of intellectual property-related legal practice experience (in-house experience preferred).
Experience with patent prosecution, open source compliance, product counseling, and managing outside counsel.
Demonstrated interest in new software technologies and eagerness to dive into technical details.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and balance competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
