About the Role
The Retail Store Assistant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a The UPS Store location, including opening and closing the center, managing productivity, ensuring world-class customer service, monitoring cost control, and providing reports to the franchise owner. This role is accountable for profit/loss, continuous improvement, service delivery, personnel management, and business development.
Responsibilities
- Performs personnel management, including training and coaching associates.
- Monitors, evaluates, and maximizes customer service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Oversees Center maintenance, including cleanliness, safety, and organization.
- Manages inventory.
- May open and/or close the store and perform end-of-day accounting.
- Frequently multi-tasks while maintaining extreme attention to detail and high quality control.
- Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries.
- Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Communicates effectively with customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Willing to accept full accountability for Center operations.
- Detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task.
- P&L experience preferred.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Retail/customer service experience
Education Level
- High school diploma or GED required
