About the Role
The Maintenance Mechanic position involves a variety of skilled building maintenance and repair tasks across various trades, with potential for independent work and occasional oversight of subordinates. The role requires a thorough knowledge of building maintenance and electrician trades to ensure a safe and functional environment.
Responsibilities
- Conducting skilled maintenance work across various trades.
- Installing and repairing plumbing, steam lines, electric wiring, equipment, furniture, doors, windows, hardware, and various mechanical/electrical equipment and machinery.
- Participating in the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems.
- Conducting property inspections to identify and address repair needs.
- Estimating materials required for repairs.
- Overseeing general grounds maintenance programs.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Five plus years of experience performing skilled work in building maintenance trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and mechanical areas.
- Completion of a training program in one or more skilled trades may substitute for up to two years of required experience.
- NYS Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to operate relevant tools and equipment.
