About the Role

Patreon is seeking an FP&A Senior Manager to support its mission of funding the creative class. In this role, you will own the financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis that leadership and the board use to run the company. You will also manage the company-wide headcount plan, treating each role as an investment to ensure optimal capital allocation. This position offers the opportunity to partner across all departments and contribute to automating financial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly and quarterly reporting cycle, including P&L variance, KPIs, and commentary for leadership reviews, board meetings, and investor updates.
  • Lead the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and long-range plan, collaborating with finance partners to create a unified company view.
  • Build scenario models to illustrate decision trade-offs and identify risks.
  • Maintain the core financial model and source-of-truth metrics in partnership with Accounting and Data teams.
  • Streamline planning and reporting processes, and automate manual tasks.
  • Own the company-wide headcount plan and forecast, ensuring alignment with People and Recruiting teams.
  • Analyze hiring decisions and their investment impact, comparing senior vs. junior hires and in-house vs. external talent.
  • Set, test, and refine assumptions for headcount cost, including benefits, payroll taxes, attrition, and hiring timing.
  • Provide support for G&A and other business partnership functions, including budget assistance and investment/spend reviews.

Requirements

  • You’ve run a full planning cycle and built the forecast story that leadership and the board rely on.
  • Monthly and board reporting is on time, trusted, and noticeably less manual.
  • Leadership has one trusted view of headcount, and the cost assumptions behind it have been tested against actuals.
  • New role requests go through a clear investment lens, and at least one hiring decision has been changed based on your analysis.
  • You’ve shipped at least one automation the broader Finance team uses.
