About the Role

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking motivated, customer-oriented individuals to join their professional team. This role is crucial for maintaining the company's diverse fleet of heavy-duty and specialized construction machinery.

Responsibilities

Inspect, service, and maintain a diverse fleet of heavy-duty and specialized construction machinery.
Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and make required repairs.
Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
Mentor apprentices and new hires, providing guidance, training, and support.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders.
Contribute to a professional and safe work environment by keeping the shop and yard clean, and following all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

Requirements

Currently residing in Canada and legally entitled to work.
5 years of mechanical experience working on a variety of construction equipment.
Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
Must have own tools.
Available and willing to work overtime as needed.
Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
Expertise in diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
Comfortable with computers (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.).
Physical stamina and ability to stand and bend for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
Strong commitment to health and safety.
