About the Role

As the Senior Manager for Software Test & Validation, you will build and lead engineering teams responsible for Power Electronics and Site-Level SIL/HIL Simulation, Manufacturing Test Software, Site Commissioning Tooling, and Fleet Data Analytics. You will architect high-fidelity real-time simulation plants, scalable factory test frameworks, and predictive fleet health models, driving quality across multiple hardware programs from R&D through field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the architecture and scaling of SIL and HIL infrastructure across power conversion stages and site-level controllers.
  • Oversee the design of custom HIL hardware, fault-injection panels, and virtual plant models for testing embedded firmware and site software.
  • Integrate automated SIL and HIL regression suites into CI/CD pipelines, serving as the release gate for production software.
  • Lead the development of automated manufacturing test software and EOL functional test frameworks for Redwood hardware product lines.
  • Build scalable systems for firmware flashing, hardware calibration, serialization, and automated diagnostics for prototype and high-volume production.
  • Architect and deliver automated field commissioning tools to streamline site bring-up and testing.
  • Lead the architecture of fleet-wide data analytics frameworks and telemetry pipelines for preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Develop automated health-monitoring models and anomaly detection algorithms for early fault detection.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary team of validation, test automation, manufacturing software, and data/reliability engineers.
  • Partner with Power Electronics Controls, Embedded Firmware, Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and Field Service teams to ensure quality and reliability.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or BS with equivalent elite depth).
  • 10+ years of industry experience in software validation, HIL simulation, manufacturing test, and fleet reliability analytics for complex hardware systems.
  • 5+ years leading technical engineering teams.
  • Proven track record architecting real-time simulation environments for power electronics converters and distributed system controllers.
  • Demonstrated experience building and deploying automated factory test software, hardware bring-up utilities, and field commissioning frameworks.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python for test automation and fleet prognostics.
  • Solid working fluency in Rust and C/C++ to inspect, instrument, and debug low-level firmware and application codebases.
  • Strong experience designing automated CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and scalable time-series telemetry architectures.
  • Deep comfort operating in high-voltage power electronics lab environments, utilizing test equipment and industrial communication protocols.
