About the Role

The Director of Facilities Portfolio Management is a strategic operational leadership role responsible for unifying the execution of procurement, real estate, and facilities functions under a cohesive, repeatable operating model. This role will serve as part of our enterprise-wide strategic planning and program lifecycle team at Optimum reporting directly to the VP of Finance Strategy and Integration. This role will be responsible for management of our facilities portfolio including overseeing prioritization, execution, and measurement of key initiatives driving measurable cost savings and bringing enhanced governance to a high-priority area of our business. This role is also a champion for the employee experience throughout every initiative, ensuring that people — not just logistics — remain at the center of every decision.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an integrated operational strategy that aligns procurement, real estate, and facilities into a unified, forward-looking plan and supports alignment with broader company initiatives including network infrastructure investment.
  • Oversee facilities planning and prioritization in partnership with Finance, HR, and Business leaders spanning corporate offices, headend locations, and other properties.
  • Track and report on expected vs. realized benefits and savings against defined targets, including property dispositions and ongoing cost optimization goals.
  • Lead the cross-functional planning and execution of all facilities-related projects across workstreams including site moves, build outs, closures, and procurement transformations.
  • Manage the end-to-end execution of initiatives, including scope, timeline, resourcing, budget, and risk management.
  • Establish governance cadences, including steering committees and working team status reviews, to track progress, surface risks, and drive timely decisions.
  • Partner with Operations, Communications, and HR teams to ensure impacted employees are supported through facility transitions including communication and feedback loops.
  • Champion a people-first approach to all workplace operations, ensuring that employee impact is assessed and addressed as a primary input in every project plan including timely, clear communication of plans, priorities, and changes to stakeholders and impacted teams.
  • Serve as the central coordination point across Facilities, Operations, Supply Chain, HR, Communications, and IT other relevant workstreams to ensure timelines are met and risks are managed.
  • Develop and maintain executive-ready reporting on portfolio status, including roadmap progress, spend versus budget, risks, and key decisions required.
  • Facilitate senior leadership discussions on prioritization, trade-offs, and resourcing across the portfolio as-needed.
  • Conduct post-move and post-closure retrospectives to capture lessons learned and continuously improve the playbook.
  • Support the optimization of portfolio tracking from spreadsheets to a centralized, scalable source of truth — aligned with broader PMO tooling over time.
  • Partner with the team to continue to standardize and optimize governance practices including project playbooks, timelines, RACI structures, and communication templates to ensure consistent and repeatable execution across projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in large-scale cost-savings programs or enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills with experience developing playbooks, RACI frameworks, and executive reporting.
  • Proven ability to engage credibly with senior executives and cross-functional leaders while remaining hands-on in execution.
  • Executive-level communication skills — able to translate complex operational and financial data into clear narratives around status, risk, and benefit realization.
  • Strong portfolio and program management skills including management of large, complex, cross-functional portfolios in matrixed organizations.
  • Comfortable operating in highly cross-functional environments spanning facilities, supply chain, technology/network, finance, and HR.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and operational data, model scenarios, and quantify savings.
  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • PMP or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience operating within a CFO-led corporate services or shared services organization.
  • Background in change management or organizational effectiveness.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
