About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Project Superintendent to lead field construction activities for multifamily residential and mixed-use projects. In this role, you’ll have day-to-day responsibility for the jobsite and work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, architects, inspectors, municipalities, and internal teams to deliver projects safely, on schedule, on budget, and to a high standard of quality. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to run a complex construction site, solve problems as they arise, and keep a large group of stakeholders moving toward the same goal.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day construction activities on the jobsite, with responsibility for safety, quality, schedule, and execution
  • Partner with the Project Manager on scheduling, preconstruction planning, site setup, and change management
  • Develop and manage the construction schedule, including key milestones, subcontractor coordination, and adjustments as conditions change
  • Develop site logistics plans covering personnel and material movement, public safety, site security, truck routing, cranes, hoists, and other site requirements
  • Coordinate subcontractors and trades, identify potential schedule or quality issues, and resolve problems before they put the project at risk
  • Identify the root causes of hazards, delays, and quality issues and develop solutions that reduce future project risk
  • Serve as a leader for quality control on the project and help ensure work meets established plans and standards
  • Build productive relationships with architects, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, municipalities, site neighbors, and internal partners
  • Lead, coach, and develop members of the project team while establishing clear expectations and accountability
  • Coordinate inspections, utilities, turnover activities, punch lists, shop drawings, submittmits, and other critical components of project delivery

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience supervising residential construction projects and activities, with experience across multiple disciplines and phases of construction
  • Strong construction planning, scheduling, and project management capabilities
  • Working knowledge of building systems, civil engineering, infrastructure, concrete, framing, and structural design
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and documentation and familiarity with applicable building codes and local jurisdiction requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-moving jobsite environment
  • Proven ability to lead and influence different personalities, disciplines, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills
