About the Role

Lithos is seeking a critical hire to own the company's capacity planning and procurement. This role is essential for ensuring Lithos can meet its promises on speed, price, and uptime by securing the necessary compute resources before demand arrives. Reporting directly to the founders, this position is one of the first ten hires and holds significant commercial importance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the multi-year capacity plan, translating demand forecasts and the model roadmap into GPU, network, and data-center requirements.
  • Manage procurement across vendors, sourcing and negotiating GPU capacity, networking, and colocation.
  • Build a vendor bench to mitigate reliance on single suppliers.
  • Lead contract negotiations end-to-end, including commit profiles, drawdown schedules, pricing, acceptance testing, uptime definitions, service credits, network fabric performance guarantees, and SLA remedies.
  • Develop a rolling price book and vendor scorecard to track market pricing, delivery reliability, and performance.
  • Model total cost of ownership (TCO) per unit of performance, using cost per token and cost per GPU-hour as the basis for capacity decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure purchased hardware is optimized for software performance and validated through acceptance tests.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in compute capacity, infrastructure procurement, or data-center commercial roles.
  • Experience negotiating and closing seven-figure-plus infrastructure contracts, including commit structures, drawdowns, and SLA remedies.
  • Strong quantitative skills, comfortable with metrics like $/GPU-hour, utilization, power density, delivery lead times, and effective cost per unit of performance.
  • Working knowledge of current GPU generations and high-speed networking (InfiniBand/RoCE).
  • Ability to work independently, building processes and vendor relationships from scratch.
  • Experience with capacity for AI inference or training workloads is a plus.
  • Experience on the vendor side selling GPU capacity to AI labs is a plus.
