About the Role

As a key member of the Service team, the Preventative Maintenance Technician Level 2 plays a vital role in keeping our rental fleet and customer equipment operating safely, reliably, and effectively.

Responsibilities

Wash equipment, touch up paint and replace decals to presentable expectations.
Clean and detail interiors.
Inspect rental equipment to ensure proper operation.
Complete preventative maintenance schedules according to manufacturer's recommendations.
Complete quality assurance inspections to ensure equipment is safe, complete, and in proper working condition.
Test and operate construction equipment, assessing condition and identifying damage or issues.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and routine servicing.
Perform annual inspections of select rental equipment.
Maintain and update required documentation, inspections, and data entry accurately.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, yard, and branch areas.
Load and unload customer rental equipment as required.
Assist other technicians and service team members as needed, including guiding Level 1 Preventative Maintenance Technicians.
Complete required documentation and data entry.
Perform other duties as assigned to support branch operations.
Collaborate seamlessly with your colleagues to create a supportive and efficient work environment.
Follow all workplace safety protocols and environmentally sound practices, making sure everyone stays safe.
May be required to work staggered shifts or weekends.

Requirements

Mechanical Experience: An experienced preventative maintenance technician.
Opportunities available for High-school Co-op, Motive Power Co-op and 421 apprentices seeking development.
Apprentice Mindset: A genuine interest in learning and developing new skills.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team environment with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.
Independent Worker: Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills.
Endurance: Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly up to 50lbs.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel.)
Experience with Systematics and labor tracking systems would be an asset.
Safety Focused: A strong commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibility, and Battlefield’s health and safety policies.
Customer Service Oriented: Excellent communication skills and a knack for making customers feel valued.
Experience Operating Forklifts
A technical understanding of CAT equipment would be considered an asset.
Flexibility to support on-call schedules and adapt to business demands.
Ownership of personal tools is required for the role.
