This role involves optimizing, automating, and scaling production processes, with a focus on producing high-quality biological materials reliably and improving manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and purify recombinant proteins using bacterial, cell-free, and other expression systems.
  • Prepare buffers and reagents to defined specifications and assist in validating automated preparation.
  • Supply R&D projects with proteins and reagents, managing requests, specifications, and timelines.
  • Optimize and scale production processes for proteins, buffers, and reagents to enhance yield, purity, consistency, and turnaround time.
  • Troubleshoot production issues systematically and utilize data for process improvements.
  • Balance platform supply and R&D priorities, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform QC and release testing on proteins and buffers, including SDS-PAGE, concentration, purity, and activity assays.
  • Complete batch records, maintain traceability, and support lot release within the eQMS.

  • Hands-on experience expressing and purifying recombinant proteins, preferably including E. coli systems.
  • Experience with chromatographic purification techniques (e.g., FPLC/ÄKTA, affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion).
  • Experience with QC or analytical characterization of proteins and reagents.
  • Experience working within a QMS with documented procedures and meticulous record-keeping.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and improve the robustness, yield, or reproducibility of laboratory processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and collaborate effectively with internal customers.
