About the Role
Block by Block CA is looking for people who like working outdoors, staying active, and feeling a sense of accomplishment, while improving some of your city's most important public spaces. Special Project Ambassadors are the local caretakers in the public spaces they serve, professionally representing the company and its customers, helping the public see that the space is well cared for, and taking ownership of every person's experience in the public space.
Responsibilities
- Circulate through assigned work zones in the work area, completing manual and/or mechanical cleaning of needed items or spaces.
- Operate large hot water power unit to clean sidewalks or plazas, street furniture, or any other areas in need of deep cleaning.
- Operate large litter vacuums to sweep up litter, debris, or leaves.
- Be a visible presence and have friendly interactions with the people in the public space served.
- Use a smartphone app to report normal activities and maintenance reports.
Requirements
- Valid CA Driver's License
- Pressure washing background REQUIRED
- Must have the physical capacity to stand and move continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen-minute breaks and one thirty-minute meal break).
- Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
