Responsibilities
- Companionship: Spending quality time with clients, having conversations and supporting their hobbies and interests.
- Personal Care: Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming and other personal care needs.
- Home Help: Helping with light housekeeping, laundry, ironing, shopping and keeping the home tidy.
- Meal Preparation: Planning and preparing meals and encouraging healthy eating.
- Medication Reminders: Providing reminders in line with the client's care plan.
- Appointments and Outings: Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities and local outings.
- Specialist Support: Supporting clients living with dementia, Alzheimer's and other age-related conditions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in care is desirable but not essential.
- A caring, compassionate and patient approach.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients.
- Reliable, punctual and well organised.
- Able to work independently and follow care instructions.
- Flexible and willing to learn.
- Good personal hygiene and a professional appearance.
- Ability to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
