The position also requires identifying data quality issues, partnering with business units for root-cause analysis, and collaborating with Data Engineering teams to optimize data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, produce and maintain 1LOD Financial Crime Management Information (MI) processes, data flows and procedural documentation.
  • Develop, test and enhance MI dashboards and reporting tools, incorporating automated data pipelines and coding solutions (e.g., Python, SQL) and leveraging AI/ML techniques where beneficial.
  • Analyse, maintain and propose enhancements to Financial Crime Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and MI to ensure performance remains within defined Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) tolerances.
  • Ensure all MI and analytical improvements follow approved governance frameworks, satisfying quality, sign‑off and audit requirements.
  • Continuously monitor financial crime KRIs, escalating and reporting threshold breaches with clear commentary and analytical insight.
  • Identify and document data quality issues, inaccuracies, control gaps and process weaknesses, raising self‑identified issues in full alignment with the Operational Risk Handbook.
  • Partner with Business Units and 2LOD Financial Crime teams to conduct root‑cause analysis, using data and analytical tooling to propose sustainable, technology‑enabled remediation actions.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Architecture teams to maintain and optimise data infrastructure used for Financial Crime MI, ensuring it remains robust, scalable and fit‑for‑purpose.
  • Perform data integrity, completeness and quality testing to ensure reliability of all financial crime MI outputs.
  • Develop and maintain the strategic roadmap for Financial Crime data, analytics and MI capabilities, ensuring alignment to regulatory requirements, business priorities, risk appetite and the broader Financial Crime target operating model.
  • Lead the identification, prioritisation and delivery of Financial Crime data and reporting enhancements, translating business requirements into scalable data and analytics solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Financial Crime data assets, including the development of new metrics, KRIs, management information, dashboards and analytical capabilities to support proactive risk management and decision-making.
  • Provide strategic insight and thought leadership on emerging data, analytics and technology opportunities, including automation, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics, to enhance Financial Crime risk management effectiveness.
  • Present Financial Crime MI, KRIs and risk‑tolerance performance at relevant governance forums, providing narrative commentary and analytical insights to support decision‑making.
  • Define and maintain Financial Crime data requirements, standards and governance controls, ensuring key data used for monitoring and reporting remains accurate, complete, traceable and fit for purpose.
  • Deliver training and knowledge‑sharing sessions to build capability in interpreting dashboards, understanding MI outputs and using analytical tools.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across Group Risk, Compliance, local 2LOD Financial Crime teams and wider stakeholders to drive a strong risk management culture.
  • Undertake additional tasks and activities aligned to team objectives and emerging business priorities.
  • Act as the business lead for Financial Crime data initiatives and technology change, working with Data, Technology and Change teams to influence prioritisation, secure delivery and embed sustainable long-term solution.
  • Own and oversee delivery of the Financial Crime MI and analytics development backlog, ensuring strategic initiatives, regulatory commitments and business priorities are delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Contribute to the development of the Financial Crime operating model by identifying opportunities to improve data availability, reporting efficiency, automation and control effectiveness.
