About the Role
BYD Europe BV is seeking a technical support professional to resolve issues during the commissioning and operation of Utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role involves maintaining customer relationships, solving product problems, providing technical training, managing spare parts, and contributing field data to R&D.
Responsibilities
- Resolve technical issues during the commissioning and operation of Utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Maintain professional communication with utility companies, IPPs, and EPC contractors.
- Analyze and resolve complex quality problems in containerized energy storage solutions.
- Provide technical training on high-voltage system operation, EMS usage, and emergency response protocols.
- Collect field data on BESS performance and grid interaction for R&D insights.
- Coordinate logistics for large-scale components and manage on-site repair or replacement of damaged units.
Requirements
- More than 2 years of relevant work experience in Utility-scale BESS.
- Familiarity with large-capacity PCS (Power Conversion Systems), BMS, EMS.
- Basic knowledge of medium-to-high voltage power distribution.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot system-level failures.
- Familiarity with safety regulations for large energy storage installations.
- Willingness to travel within Germany and occasionally to other countries around Germany.

- DGUV Stufe 2 qualification (strong plus)
