About the Role
As Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the pub, helping to deliver great service, develop your team, and drive business performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead from the front: Motivate and inspire the team to deliver excellent hospitality and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Help run a busy pub: Support the General Manager with daily operations, leading shifts and keeping everything running smoothly.
- Put guests first: Make every visit memorable, whether guests are enjoying a family meal, catching the match or relaxing in the beer garden.
- Drive results: Help manage sales, labour costs, stock and profitability, making the most of opportunities to grow the business.
- Develop your people: Coach and support team members, helping them build confidence and progress in their careers.
- Maintain high standards: Take pride in cleanliness, safety, compliance and the overall presentation of the pub.
- Build a great team culture: Create a positive environment where people feel supported, valued and motivated.
Requirements
- Previous management or supervisory experience in hospitality, such as a pub, restaurant or similar environment.
- A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- A hands-on approach and the confidence to lead by example.
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of sales, costs and profitability.
- Excellent organisation and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and a genuine desire to develop your team.
- Eligible to hold a Personal Licence (support provided to obtain one if successful).
