About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Product Designer (UI/UX Designer) to lead design initiatives and grow into a design management role. You will define the design direction for key projects, collaborate with product managers, engineers, and customer success teams, and contribute to managing our design team. Your responsibilities will include shaping the team's direction, tracking design KPIs, and reporting outcomes to senior management. Fluency in Japanese and English is essential for clear communication with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead key projects with a strong understanding of HENNGE’s business, shaping the design direction, guiding other designers, and working closely with stakeholders on product direction.
- Support the management of the design team, including goal setting, growth, workload balance and hiring.
- Help define the team’s direction and goals.
- Set standards for our product design quality and team processes.
- Track design KPIs and report results to senior management.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a focus on product design.
- Experience leading design projects from discovery to delivery with multiple teams, connecting design decisions to business goals and explaining them clearly to stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring or leading designers, and improving how a team works.
- Business-level communication skills in both Japanese (N1 or close to it) and English.
- Live, plan to live, or relocate within commuting distance of our Tokyo office.
