About the Role
Welocalize is seeking a Maps Quality Tester with a background in GIS or previous maps experience. In this role, you will be working at a leading consumer technology company as a contributor to the finished products released in target markets across the globe. The ideal candidate is a brilliant problem solver, quick study, self-starter, and excellent communicator with a passion for shipping quality products. The ability to think on your feet and to deliver results in a fast-paced environment is a must. Avid cyclists who track their performance across different routes have relevant experience and a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the development team to ensure the client organization ships the highest quality application.
- Quickly grasp and distill highly complex matters into clean, understandable reports.
- Explain technical details in clear and concise reports.
Requirements
- Proficient in using iOS and MacOS (desirable)
- Working knowledge of maps and web-based mapping products
- Good written and spoken English
- Experience working with data and spreadsheets
- Familiarity with using mobile devices for driving navigation e.g. Apple Maps, Google Maps
- Creative thinker and able to understand the product from the user's perspective
- Organised and self-sufficient, able to work remotely without direct supervision
- Austin-based (but you'll be working from home in Austin)
