About the Role

Mott MacDonald's Buildings Structures team has openings for a Senior Structural Engineer in the Sydney office to contribute to groundbreaking projects in the Aviation, Transport, Defence & Water markets.

Responsibilities

Deliver landmark building projects across sectors including arts & culture, aviation, education, transport, civic, and life sciences.
Take accountability for structural scope, resourcing, program performance, and commercial outcomes on major commissions.
Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, architects, and consultants to drive innovative, sustainable design solutions.
Engage directly with clients, shaping project strategies and building long-term partnerships.
Work on proposals and bids, actively engaging in the market with our key clients.
Provide technical governance and peer review oversight across complex and high-risk projects, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with relevant standards and codes.
Contribute to a workplace culture that values collaboration, creativity, and purpose-driven work.
Actively engaged in driving technical excellence and the training and development of the team.

Requirements

Strong local experience in detailed design and delivery.
Passionate about architecture and engineering, with a strong appreciation for how structural design can enhance architectural intent, functionality, constructability and the overall quality of the built environment.
Technically authoritative and commercially astute, with strong judgement in design decision-making, risk management, and delivering value-focused outcomes for clients.
