About the Role

The Account Linking team at Rocket Money builds and maintains integrations that connect members' financial accounts, providing reliable access to accurate, up-to-date financial data. This role involves leading a team to shape technical direction, champion reliability, drive delivery, and support engineer growth.

Responsibilities

Lead a small team with a direct impact on the business.
Act as the face of Account Linking, advocating for the team and fostering relationships with other leaders and teams.
Drive collaboration and communicate capabilities and constraints to enable effective use of financial account data.
Guide architectural decisions and identify investments to enhance platform scalability and maintainability.
Establish a clear technical direction for system evolution.
Define metrics for account connection health, data completeness, accuracy, and freshness.
Lead improvements in monitoring, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
Own the delivery of team commitments and execute a quarterly roadmap.
Make decisions, clear blockers, communicate progress and risks, and adjust priorities with Product.
Stay technically engaged through RFCs, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.
Help engineers evaluate tradeoffs and empower them to own execution.
Explore developments in agentic software development and adopt practices to improve delivery quality and pace.
Provide coaching, actionable feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
Build individualized growth plans for engineers and create opportunities for their development.

Requirements

8+ years of experience shipping production systems.
Experience supporting external integrations and driving operational excellence on platform teams.
Experience supporting large data sets in production.
Experience using observability and root-cause analysis to improve reliability and data quality.
At least one year of experience leading an engineering team.
Track record of leading senior individual contributors.
Experience with FinTech or consumer apps is a plus.
