About the Role
Waste Connections is seeking an Assistant Controller to be involved in all aspects of the business, not just the accounting cycle. This role offers tremendous opportunities for internal growth and the chance to work with smart, talented, and fun people in a 'work hard, play harder' culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, annual budgets, audits, and system implementations.
- Support operations personnel with daily, weekly, and monthly metric calculations.
- Be involved in Operations, Sales, and Customer Service.
- Ride along with drivers and the sales team.
- Become familiar with the billing system by sitting with a Customer Service Representative.
- Understand the many facets of the business to provide support as a true business partner to District Managers.
Requirements
- Must be a self-starter with the initiative to learn and a great work ethic.
- Relocation for advancement or promotional opportunities.
Skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and related accounting business systems.
Education Level
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Salary/Compensations
- $80,000 - $100,000 with bonus potential
