About the Role

As a Principal Product Manager focused on AI strategy and product development for investment research, you will shape how Capital Group uses AI to create competitive advantage in the investment process. You will set the strategic direction and lead the product development of AI-enabled research capabilities that help investors generate unique insights, pursue differentiated approaches, and collaborate more effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full arc from strategy to execution: translating high-level business outcomes into clear strategies, prioritized roadmaps, and viable software solutions, then guiding those solutions through discovery, design, build, launch, and adoption.
  • Favor fast, iterative experimentation over lengthy planning cycles, launching pilots, measuring what works, learning from what doesn't, and scaling what delivers value.
  • Partner closely with investment group leaders, investment professionals, and researchers, as well as with a broad range of engineering, product, enterprise, and technology teams.
  • Build a differentiated data and technology foundation, including capturing and using unstructured investment knowledge such as meeting notes, expert conversations, and research summaries.
  • Be the voice of the investor and the business, aligning priorities across dependent teams and applications, and measuring product and business metrics to drive adoption and lasting value.

Requirements

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, finance, or a related field.
  • Have at least 10 years of experience in product strategy and product development, including developing and launching software products from vision and roadmap through execution, with a track record of delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Have developed and led AI strategy and data-driven transformation, and can show how you redesigned processes and workflows rather than simply automating existing ones.
  • Have a deep understanding of investment research (e.g., how analysts and portfolio managers form views, make decisions, and use data and judgment), ideally from experience in asset management, an investment firm, or a research-driven financial services environment.
  • Be highly analytical and passionate about product discovery.
  • Have led lightweight, iterative experiments and pilots to validate, test, and learn so that we “build the right thing,” and you are comfortable with uneven results and rapid adaptation.
  • Have demonstrated executive influence.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior business leaders and highly sophisticated investors, influence strategic decisions on product direction, investment, and change, and communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Have solved ambiguous, high-stakes strategic problems at the executive level, framing them clearly, weighing trade-offs, and driving alignment on a path forward.
  • Have a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex, multi-disciplinary engagements.
  • Can set up and lead high-performing teams, and mentor and coach product managers.
