Responsibilities

  • Design and build custom production equipment, automation systems, fixtures, and electromechanical assemblies from concept through deployment.
  • Upgrade and automate metrology equipment and precision process tools, including dispensing, curing, and measurement systems.
  • Work with precision stages, actuators, bearings, control electronics, and multi-axis motion systems.
  • Partner with software engineers, machinists, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to design, build, integrate, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Split time between mechanical design and hands-on lab integration, testing, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Typically 5 or more years of mechanical engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, or fewer years with a master's degree.
  • Demonstrated ownership of custom machinery or production equipment from concept through fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably Creo; SolidWorks or NX experience is also relevant.
  • Full-system mechanical engineering experience, including automation, precision mechanisms, and equipment integration.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturing and assembly for machined and fabricated parts.
  • Production equipment experience; backgrounds in semiconductor equipment, wafer processing, factory automation, or metrology are relevant.
  • Experience with precision motion, optics, robotics, or micron- and nanometer-scale measurement systems is beneficial.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
