About the Role
The TREATS IT Team is responsible for all IT development and support activities related to the TREATS application, an integrated front and back office treasury system used internally by HSBC. The team needs an experienced IBM i (iSeries / AS400) Developer/ Support person to understand requirements, perform technical analysis, recommend design/solutions, conduct/support testing, facilitate transitions to production, and provide post-implementation and production support.
Responsibilities
- Assist with requirements gathering and support business user queries.
- Perform technical analysis and recommend viable IT solutions.
- Design, develop, and implement IT solutions according to standards.
- Design and conduct testing to ensure deliverable quality.
- Produce system solution documentation for traceability and maintainability.
- Collaborate with different teams to deliver according to timeline.
- Support live implementations and post-implementation activities.
- Provide first-level production support when necessary.
- Operate in different time zones to work seamlessly with global colleagues.
Requirements
- IT working experience, preferably in an enterprise or global environment.
- Good interpersonal, communication (Spanish and English), and presentation skills.
- Excellent RPG development experience.
- Solid technical knowledge and development experience in IBM i, RPGLE, and CLLE programming.
- Experience with Java backend.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling pipeline on IBM i (e.g., RDi, RTC, ARCAD, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub, VS Code).
- Infrastructure connectivity knowledge: DDM, MQ, sFTP, C:D.
- Excellent MS Windows and MS Office skills.
- Strong data/fact-based analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and under pressure against multiple deadlines.
- Excellent understanding of the full project lifecycle and Agile methodology.
- Ability to navigate and adapt quickly using different tools and technologies.
- Experience with AI Tooling – Co-pilot, Claude.
- Knowledge of Treasury Markets products and post-trade operations.
- Overall financial services industry knowledge with specific functional expertise.
- Ability to build, maintain, and navigate the organization using networking skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with a diverse team.
- Fair understanding of networks/infrastructure/communication tools and technologies.
