About the Role
Gentle Dental World is seeking a Dental Assistant in Queens, New York to provide excellent patient care and support the clinical team in a team-based environment. This role is integral to patient satisfaction and supports the mission of providing excellent dental care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
- Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
- Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
- Manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
Requirements
- Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or 1 year on-the-job-experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
