About the Role
LV Collective is seeking a dependable and hardworking Grounds Technician to maintain the Rainey Street District in Austin, TX. This role is crucial for creating a clean, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for residents, businesses, and visitors, ensuring the neighborhood looks its best.
Responsibilities
- Maintain clean sidewalks, storefront entrances, walkways, and shared outdoor spaces.
- Remove litter, debris, and trash from assigned areas regularly.
- Keep alleyways, loading docks, and service areas clean, organized, and accessible.
- Pressure wash sidewalks, walkways, alleyways, loading areas, and other exterior surfaces as needed.
- Remove graffiti, stickers, and unauthorized signage using approved methods.
- Monitor trash collection areas and dumpsters, addressing overflowing waste, spills, and debris.
- Assist with general exterior upkeep, including light landscaping cleanup and leaf removal.
- Monitor loading and delivery activity, ensuring access points remain clear.
- Build positive working relationships with neighboring businesses, vendors, and service providers.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, damaged surfaces, lighting concerns, and safety hazards.
- Respond to additional cleaning and maintenance needs during high-traffic periods, special events, and after inclement weather.
- Identify opportunities to improve the appearance, cleanliness, and overall experience of the district.
- Maintain cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are organized and in safe working condition.
- Safely operate pressure washers and other cleaning equipment.
- Participate in safety meetings and follow OSHA guidelines and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and proactively address or report potential safety concerns.
- Assist with other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Ability to work late or on weekends may be required.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, or willingness to learn.
- Availability to work early mornings, weekends, or adjusted schedules as needed.
