About the Role
The Pharmacy Floater is responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing financial and personnel functions. This role offers a concentrated coverage area with a smaller territory and fewer store locations, spanning from Catskill, NY, to Westfall, PA, and includes seven stores for a more manageable and consistent floating schedule.
Responsibilities
- Registers with state board of pharmacy as supervising pharmacist or pharmacist in charge.
- Maintains the pharmacy in good standing with all federal, state, board of pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
- Provides guidance and training to pharmacy associates and holds them accountable for complying with regulatory and company policies.
- Counsels patients and medical providers regarding drug nature, use, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
- Maintains department facilities consistent with legal and company standards.
- Achieves financial goals such as sales, gross profit maximization, and minimization of shrink and supply expense.
- Trains and develops pharmacy interns and technicians.
- Receives telephone prescriptions and authorizations from prescriber’s offices.
Requirements
- Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing in NY & PA
- Ability to travel to various stores
- Immunization Certification
- Must be 21 years of age.
Skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing systems
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage others.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
