About the Role
Mercy Haven is seeking a passionate individual to join their mission of providing homes and services to diverse populations in crisis. This role is crucial in supporting residents at the Pleasant Gardens Adult Home, a 26-bed facility offering comprehensive care and supervision.
Responsibilities
- Administer medication to residents
- Make beds
- Assist residents in attending activities
- Ensure residents are awake, washed, and dressed
- Serve and cook meals and snacks
- Change linens weekly or as needed
- Complete laundry for linens and residents' clothes
- Carry out housekeeping duties
- Ensure residents have personal hygiene supplies
- Document incidents in the aide's book
- Complete daily census
- Adhere to the cleaning schedule for bedrooms and common living areas
- Check rooms and common living spaces for resident safety
- Assist with other tasks as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Experience working with the elderly is preferred
- Valid NYS Driver's License in good standing
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, squat, walk, and move intermittently during work hours
- Ability to push or pull 10-15 pounds daily and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to drive an agency vehicle
- Training in First Aid and CPR required
- Successful completion of annual Physical and PPD
