About the Role
The Restaurant Assistant Manager will champion operational excellence across Saks Global Restaurants, ensuring guest satisfaction and business profitability by leveraging team strengths, maintaining brand standards, and executing key initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance of premium quality, ambiance, and cleanliness in dining rooms and kitchens.
- Enforce strict adherence to local Health and Safety standards and Saks Global policies.
- Drive the restaurant team to achieve and maintain high scores on secret shop reports and health sanitation evaluations.
- Manage inventory counts, process invoices, assist with month-end forecasts, and review P&L reports.
- Maintain accurate administrative paperwork and POS reports.
- Support overall business needs in partnership with the General Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef.
- Coordinate and support special promotions, private bookings, and seasonal events.
- Oversee restaurant Associates in completing daily tasks and maintaining a high-energy floor presence.
- Mentor, coach, and counsel direct reports while fostering a collaborative team culture.
- Provide constructive feedback, handle conflict resolution, and administer disciplinary action when necessary.
- Work closely with People Business Partners on matters relevant to restaurant staff, including onboarding, training, payroll, and benefits.
- Communicate daily with the General Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef regarding operations, financials, events, and employee relations.
- Participate in department manager meetings and relay relevant restaurant news to other business units.
- Cascade corporate updates, operational changes, and daily goals to the restaurant frontline staff.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of relevant restaurant management or hospitality leadership experience.
- 4-year degree preferred, or equivalent career experience.
- Proven history of leading, motivating, and coaching diverse teams to achieve high-performance objectives.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface with corporate partners, culinary leaders, and guests.
- Highly motivated, results-driven, strong attention to detail, and exceptional problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Basic proficiency with MS Office Product Suite, Google Workspace, and modern POS/inventory systems.
- Role requires extended periods of standing, bending, climbing stairs, and the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on luxury retail and hospitality business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
